The first entirely electric-only vehicle produced by the Swedish automaker is the C40 Recharge.

The Volvo C40 Recharge Ultimate is one of the most recent electric vehicles ( EVs ) to reach South Africa, where there are now many of them.

the Stuff team. Co. za spent some time in one of these cars, taking part in every aspect of the journey, including the difficulties in recharging.

The Swedish automaker also produced other EVs that were hybrid derivatives, like the XC40, making the C40 Recharge the first Volvo to be made entirely of electric power.

By 2030, Volvo intends to only produce electric vehicles, making this vehicle a significant step toward the Scandinavian automaker’s goal of becoming carbon-free.

Depending on your driving style and the circumstances, the 78kWh lithium-ion battery pack’s range is 510km, according to Volvo.

It should take the vehicle’s 7-meter-long wall charger, which has an output of 11k Wh, about eight hours to fully recharge. You can recharge a 150kWh fast-charger from 10 to 80 % in just 27 minutes.

Google Maps, Assistant, and Play Store apps are already installed inside the infotainment system, but the center control panel can be used to change everything from the climate control to the interior ambient lighting.

You can spend R1.3 million on the all-new, tech-heavy, fully electric C40 Recharge from Volvo, which is reasonable for a luxurySUV.
