The parks department claims to be keeping an eye on the situation with free-ranging animals in Matsulu.

Following another elephant that was seen roaming the Sibuyile Section in Matsulu on Monday February 19, the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) said it is monitoring the situation. Teachers at Mariannridge School are terrified for their lives after a teacher is attacked.

The parent allegedly stormed into a grade 2 classroom at Mariannridge Primary School on Thursday, assaulting the teacher in full view of the children. The school subsequently decided to close its doors on Monday for a meeting between teachers, parents and guardians, as the incident has left the school’s teachers feeling unsafe. One parent told
