It’s utterly entertaining and compelling, which is why the eagerly anticipated documentary series on the life of international sports icon David Beckham debuted on Netflix this week.

The four-part series, which Fisher Stevens, an Oscar winner, directed, explores the highs and lows of the sports icon’s life through in-depth conversations with his wife, Victoria Beckham, a former Spice Girls singer.

This docu-series follows Beckham’s meteoric rise from humble beginnings to international football stardom with never-before-seen footage.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, I recall them as this pop-culture juggernaut. It’s a very interesting documentary series. It’s fascinating to observe his concentration since he joined Man United at the age of 12. He only ever played football. And how the tabloids attacked him after he overcame the red card while representing England at the World Cup.

It’s very fascinating even if you don’t follow football. David Beckham must have had incredible mental fortitude to ignore the commotion while still entering the playing field.
