The Western Cape government has been urged by the Congress of South African Trade Unions( Cosatu) to create jobs for workers and guarantee fair working conditions.
On Friday, just before the International Day of Decent Work, the trade union and its affiliates came together to demonstrate at various workplaces all over Cape Town.
Many of the province’s employees, according to Motlatsi Tsubane, the chairperson of Cosatu, are not given the respect they deserve.
” Workers should be treated with respect because they are partners in the workplace.” They should receive reasonable work.

Employers must abide by the Basic Conditions of Employment, according to Tsubane.
” There are a number of obstacles that we must overcome within the provincial government’s departments, making it impossible for us to follow the recruitment policies and the Basic Conditions of Employment.”
