The International Day of Decent Work was observed on Friday at a number of locations throughout Cape Town by the Congress of South African Trade Unions( Cosatu ) and its affiliates.

The day is set aside to honor workers’ rights and trade unions.

The trade union was prepared to distribute a number of memoranda to city employers and government representatives.

Cosatu provincial chairperson Motlatsi Tsubane said Cape Town residents face a number of difficulties, particularly in the provincial government, in an interview with Eyewitness News outside the Western Cape Provincial Legislature.

These are the issues we are emphasizing:” There is no compliance with recruitment policies, and neither are there with Basic Conditions of Employment.”
