” We issue a strict warning: to immediately halt the ongoing military reconnaissance satellite launch preparations.” Our Armed Forces will take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the populace if North Korea launches despite our warning, the statement reads.
Shin Won-Sik, the South Korean Defense Minister, previously stated that in an effort to overtake South Korea, North Korea might launch its first reconnaissance satellite within a week or before the end of November. From the US Vandenberg airbase, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the first South Korean military satellite.
In May and August, North Korea attempted to launch its first reconnaissance satellite twice without success. Pyongyang also announced that another attempt would be made in October, but it was unsuccessful.
