JOHANNESBURG: The Democratic Alliance ( DA ) has denounced the African National Congress’ ( ANC ) use of Mandisa Maya’s likeness without her permission on a campaign poster.

A poster featuring Maya’s likeness was posted this week on the social media pages of the ruling party.

The party, which has since apologized, faced criticism for this, with Chief Justice Raymond Zondo’s office claiming that the ANC was not authorized to use this image.

ANC apologizes for using justice Mandisa Maya’s likeness against her will.

This, according to the DA, demonstrates a disregard for the country’s judicial integrity.

According to Justice Shadow Minister Glynnis Breytenbach,” The DA urges the ANC to show maturity and emotional intelligence in their marketing efforts.”

” Using a senior judicial figure’s reputation to undermine the credibility of the entire Judiciary as well as the deputy chief justice personally”

During a Saturday visit to voter registration locations in Soweto, President Cyril Ramaphosa also expressed his opinion on the incident, saying that the judiciary should be respected and judges should n’t get involved in politics.
