IEC: Over 320,000 physically registered to vote by midday Saturday

By 11 a.m. on Saturday, at least 326 000 people had signed up to cast ballots in the 2024 elections in Johannesburg.

In advance of the 2024 general elections, more than 23, 000 voting locations across the nation were open all weekend.

The Electoral Commission ( IEC ) provided an update on Centurion’s first day of registration on Saturday, stating that only those who had physically visited voting locations and finished their registrations by 11 am were included in the total.

Even in areas where connectivity problems are a problem, voter management devices have gathered thousands of registration details.

At least 26, 000 people registered on Saturday using the commission’s online portal, according to the IEC.

According to Shiburi, the commission intends to record-breaking levels of online registrations.

The highest activity ever observed on a single day is about to be surpassed by us.
