Waste collection services to resume in parts of Cape Town

In some areas of Cape Town, waste collection services will resume.

Waste collection services in places like Gugulethu, Philippi, Crossroads, and Nyanga have been reinstated by the City of Cape Town.

Due to ongoing attacks and staff-related threats, the City halted operations in these areas.

Services would resume under security protection, according to Grant Twigg, the City’s MMC for urban waste management.

” Under security protection, the waste collection services will resume as usual on Monday, October 9. Please be patient as we deal with the backlogs in these affected areas, which will begin on Saturday, October 7th, according to Twigg.
