Meyiwa murder trial: Co-accused in drug dealing, allegedly implicated

PRETORIA- One of the men facing charges in Senzo Meyiwa’s murder allegedly connected his co-accused to drug trafficking.

Sergeant Batho Mogola, a key witness in the football star’s murder case, is giving testimony to the court.

The admissibility of two of the five men accused’s confession statements is the subject of this trial within a trial.

On Tuesday morning, Mogola is anticipated to return to the witness stand.

While they were being looked into for Meyiwa’s murder, Muzikawukhulelwea Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi both had drug-related cases and were accused of possessing ammunition.

Mogola revealed some information about Sibiya and Ntanzi’s relationship on Monday while testifying.

She claimed that they visited the Vosloorus Basotho hostel, where Sibiya had implicated Ntanzi and another man, as part of their investigation into the drug dealing charge for which he had initially been detained.

” The person in question was selling drugs for accused number two, according to information that was also provided to us by defendant number one.”

On December 1, the verdict in Sibiya’s drug dealing case is scheduled to be announced.
