This comes after a fire broke out on Monday at the Redfern Major Substation due to an electrical fault.

The transformer, the substation’s primary asset, was unaffected by the fire, according to Gugu Sisilana, a spokesperson for the city.

However, the incident did harm the secondary cabling and the high – and low-voltage cables coming into the transformer.
