SAWS warns of heatwave over parts of KZN

SAWS issues a heatwave warning over some KZN regions.

Residents have been forewarned of persistently high temperatures over the coming days by the SA Weather Service.

KZN heatwave- Temperatures expected to range from 32°C to 40°C.
The South African Weather Service ( Saws ) issued a heatwave weather advisory for KwaZulu-Natal on Monday, informing locals of the province’s impending scorching temperatures. Unsplash image

According to forecaster WisaniMaluleke, KZN’s western and interior regions may experience highs of about 40 degrees Celsius.

READ: On Friday and Saturday, thunderstorms are anticipated in KZN.

” We anticipate the heatwave to hit areas like Pietermaritzburg, Giants Castle, Ladysmith, Ulundi, and Newcastle areas because the affected areas are primarily in the western half of the province.”

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail, heavy downpours, and excessive lightning are also anticipated over the western and central regions of KZN today, according to a Yellow level 2 warning.
