KZN rape centre says sexual offences drop due to unreported cases

Sexual offenses, according to the KZN rape center, decrease as a result of unreported cases.

The most recent crime statistics have received commentary from the Jes Foord Foundation.

Between July and September, more than 10,000 rape cases were reported in South Africa, according to the police.

The highest of all provinces, KZN, registered a fifth of the cases.

Jes Foord, the foundation’s founder, thinks there are a variety of reasons why many cases go unreported.

As far as we are concerned as an organization with all the people we council, those stats are to increase quickly because people currently ca n’t afford to travel to Thuthuzela center, are too afraid, or are being threatened.

Additionally, the rape case of” Jub Jub” has been postponed until December.

According to reports, more than 4700 rapes were either committed at the victim’s or the perpetrators ‘ homes, and the attacker was frequently someone they knew.

It’s really scary because as kids, we were taught that” stranger danger “—you know, do n’t go out with strangers—and other such things —occur, but the truth is that these things are actually happening in our homes, our neighbors, family members, and brothers and sisters.

It’s an extremely depressing reality.

According to Foord, the nation needs to work together to support women and children more as the 16 Days of Activism campaign approaches.
