Following the breakdown of several generating units, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the minister of electricity for Johannesburg, claims that the past two weeks have been the worst for Eskom in some time.

After Eskom had to increase the power outages to stage 3 in the morning, Ramokgopa updated the nation’s power grid on Sunday.

At least four units had to be shut down for repairs over the past week, he claimed. He claimed that this had a negative effect on the country’s power grid.
