JOHANNESBURG- Voters were unable to travel to their local voting location due to a service delivery protest in Soweto’s Protea Glen.

There was a challenge in the area on Saturday morning, the Electoral Commission ( IEC ) confirmed to Eyewitness News.

In advance of the 2024 general elections, more than 23, 000 voting locations across the nation are open this weekend.

Kate Bapela, an IEC spokesperson:

Residents and those who want to cast ballots should register online if they are having safety concerns.
