Late on Friday morning, there was still activity at the KwaMashu house where four suspected cash-in-transit heist robbers were killed during a police shootout.

The Queen Nandi Drive home, thought to have served as a hideout, was still being searched for evidence by forensic teams.

The suspects are suspected of being responsible for numerous cash thefts in eThekwini, according to police.

This week, three cash-in-transit heists occurred in eThekwini, one of which happened on Thursday night.

If the suspects are connected to any of these or other heists, police will look into it.

At the scene, explosive equipment, weapons, AK-47 rifles, and live ammunition were discovered.

While forensic teams finished gathering as much evidence as they could at the alleged hideout, a sizable crowd of KwaMashu residents gathered outside the home.

In order to obtain their accounts of the events, neighbors and witnesses were also contacted.

Pathology services will enter the house once everything is finished to remove the four suspects’ bodies.
