There’s a good chance you’re still holding off on receiving Android 14 even though Google may have made it official at the beginning of October. The company has made an effort to close the gap between the release of the most recent Android version on its Pixel phones and those from third-party partners in recent years, but it will still be there in 2023. Many phone manufacturers are still beta testing their Android 14 skins as of this article’s writing.

ASUS
On October 10, ASUS started testing Android 14 in the US in broad daylight. The Zenfone 10, the company’s current flagship, is the only one that currently has access to the beta. According to an ASUS spokesperson, Zenfone 10 is the first device that should be receiving a stable release because the closed community beta for Android 14 was released first.
A stable version of Android 14 is expected to be released for Zenfone 10 users, but ASUS declined to say when. The company stated that the release date “is highly dependent on the stability and results of the beta tests with our signed-up community members.”
Due to the company’s current policy of supporting its most recent devices with two platform updates, only a small number of ASUS phones will receive Android 14 beyond the Zenfone 10. In light of this, ASUS will update the Zenfone 9 and ROG Phone 6 to Android 14.
One of the first phone manufacturers to release a reliable build of Android 14 was Google, who served as Android’s primary steward. Since October 4, Android 14 has been available to a large portion of the Pixel line, which includes the 2020 Pixel 4a5G. The update also makes the three-finger swipe gesture on the Phone 2 more reliable and adds new optional shortcuts that users can access from the power button. Nothing has promised to support its phones with OS upgrades for three years and security updates for four years as of yet. Users of Nothing can be confident that their device will receive Nothing OS 2.5 because they only entered the smartphone market in July 2022 with the Phone 1 and have since released one other handset.
OnePlus
The upcoming Android 14 skin from OnePlus, OxygenOS 14, is not yet available. When asked when the update would be available, the company said it “did not have any additional information to share at this time,” according to Engadget.
The good news is that OnePlus is testing OxygenOS 14’s beta version with users outside the business. On November 8, it announced OxygenOS 14’s Beta 4 release while also making it accessible to US and Indian users.
Your OnePlus phone is probably going to get Android 14 if you bought one in the last three years. OnePlus promised to offer four years of Android updates and five years ‘ worth of security patches with its two most recent models, the iPhone 11 and the Asus Open.
